FAMILY
Cindy was born in Kingsland, a resort/retirement area in the Texas Hill Country. She was raised in a Christian home and became a Christian herself at the age of six.She has two brothers who live with their families in the Austin, TX area. Cindy resides in Abilene,TX with her husband, Ron. Her mother also lives in Abilene, and her father went to be with Jesus in 1992.
EDUCATION
Cindy Blevins got her Bachelor's Degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX with a Major in Elementary Education, a Minor in Biology, and a Kindergarten Endorsement. She got her Master's Degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Ft. Worth, TX in Reading and an E.S.L. certification. She is an all-level certified reading specialist and certified as a librarian.
TEACHING/ADMINISTRATION
Cindy began public school teaching in 1985 and has taught in Ft. Worth, Beaumont, Garland, and Abilene--all in Texas. She has taught almost all grades/subjects kindergarten through eight grade, and served as a middle school librarian. From 2003 through 2011 she served as an instructional support teacher for Garland, ISD where she wrote curriculum and provided staff development and instructional support for 6th -12th grade reading and English teachers. She was the Director of English/Language Arts/Reading and Social Studies for Abilene ISD.
CONSULTING/STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Cindy has provided staff development and consulting since 1988 in all grade levels and all preschool/elementary subjects, and secondary ELAR for a variety of school districts and other regional and national organizations. She retired from Abilene ISD in 2015 and started www.elaconnections.com where she provides teacher resources and educational consulting. She also enjoys sharing her teaching, consulting, and curriculum knowledge in the local church, in private schools, and in home schools.
MINISTRY
As a minister's wife, Cindy has served in a variety of ministries within the local church. She especially enjoys working with youth, singles, and adults, and she loves opportunities to speak to ladies, teen girls, singles, parents, and senior adults. She also delights in independent writing projects as well as in collaborative writing endeavors with Ron.
HOBBIES
Cindy loves to read, write, cook, quilt, sew, crochet, and fly airplanes with Ron.
FAMILY
Ron Blevins grew up in Lubbock, Texas in a minister' home. His father, Dr. Stan Blevins, has been a senior pastor for over 55 years. Under that influence, Ron accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of nine and followed that action with believer's baptism. Ron’s parents, along with his sister and her family, reside in Lubbock.
EDUCATION
Ron graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. He received his Master of Music Degree in piano performance in 1987 and his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in piano performance in 1990 both from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX.
MINISTRY
Ron surrendered to the ministry in 1979 at the age of 17. Since that time, he has served in a variety of music/business positions in Texas chuches in Sweetwater, Grand Prairie, Beaumont, Garland, Mesquite, and Abilene. He is currently the Associate Pastor at Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley, Texas.
Ron has found additional opportunities to minister. He published five solo piano CD’s and wrote/performed creative worship experiences. He has experience as a public school teacher, college music teacher, and he currently teaches a variety of seminars as well as flight instruction. Ron has also served as a trustee for Hardin-Simmons University.
WRITING/SPEAKING/CONSULTING
In addition to Course for Life, Ron has written numerous articles, policies, procedures, and music. He enjoys opportunities to express his unique creativity in a variety of speaking engagements. In addition, he finds satisfaction serving in a consulting capacity and has a wealth of information to share with churches and other organizations.
HOBBIES
Ron enjoys flying airplanes, photography, investing, chess, and snow-skiing.
